I. 개관

2006년 3월 우리 정부는 2008년까지 한국의 대아프리카 개발원조 예산을 3배 확대하겠다는 공약을 담은 ‘아프리카 개발을 위한 한국의 이니셔티브(이하 “이니셔티브”)’를 발표하였다. KOICA는 동 이니셔티브 공약 이행 기관 중 하나로, 이니셔티브에 따른 이행 계획 수립, 지원 인프라 및 사업 발굴협의 확대 등 아프리카 지원 확대를 위한 일련의 변화를 도모하여 왔다.
