Ⅰ. 서언

중남미 대륙은 과거 멕시코, 과테말라를 중심으로 하는 중미 카리브해 연안의 마야∙아즈텍 문화와 페루 및 에쿠아돌, 볼리비아를 중심으로 하는 남미지역의 잉카문명을 꽃피웠던 찬란한 문화 역사를 가지고 있는 지역으로 석유∙동광∙유황 등 부존자원이 풍 부하고 인구 4억 6천만 명에 총 GDP가 2조 달러에 이르는 등 경제적인 잠재력이 매우 높은 지역이다.
