유엔난민기구의 활동 소개 : 스리랑카 사무소 경험을 바탕으로

서론

인류가 사회를 이루고 살게 된 이래로 난민의 문제는 항상 있어왔다. 근대에 이르러서 세계 각지에서 발생하는 전쟁으로 인해 난민의 문제는 끊임없이 제기되어 왔는데 이러한 난민문제의 국제적인 해결을 위해 설립된 기구가 바로 유엔난민기구이다. 본 원고에서 필자는 2002년부터 2004년까지 근무했던 유엔난민기구 스리랑카사무소에서의 경험을 바탕으로 유엔난민기구의 활동내용에 대해 소개하고자 한다.
